Security Highlights: Soaring to New Heights
The summer season has been one of exceptional growth and recognition for Gardant Security. We're thrilled to share the highlights:
Torbay Airshow Triumph:
Our first year providing security services for the Torbay Airshow was a resounding success. The event went off without a hitch, garnering outstanding feedback from the council, police, and attendees alike. Our team's unwavering professionalism and dedication to safety ensured a seamless experience for all. Building upon this success, we're excited to announce that Gardant Medicare is now providing event medical services for other Torbay Council events, expanding our expertise and range of services.
University of Exeter Partnership Expansion:
Our dynamic partnership with the University of Exeter continues to grow, encompassing an ever-wider range of security and medical services. This collaboration reflects our deep understanding of the unique security needs of educational institutions and our commitment to building long-lasting relationships with our clients.
Back-to-Back Wins: Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market & Barnstaple CST:
The confidence our clients place in us is evident in our successful retenders. Being entrusted with securing the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market for a second consecutive year and the continued provision of services for Barnstaple CST are both proud achievements. These renewals, along with our new contracts with Torridge and East Devon councils, highlight our growing reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality security services.
Expanding Community Safety: Torridge & East Devon District Councils:
In a significant step towards enhancing community safety, we're proud to announce that Gardant Security has been selected to provide comprehensive Community Safety Team (CST) services to both Torridge District Council (Bideford) and East Devon District Council (Exmouth). Our dedicated CSTs will work closely with local communities, businesses, and authorities to address a range of safety and security concerns, deter anti-social behaviour, and create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
Partnering with D&C Police: Hotspot Patrols:
As part of our commitment to proactive security measures, we're excited to be collaborating more closely than ever with the Devon and Cornwall Police. Our CST teams will be conducting regular "Hotspot Patrols" in areas identified by data analysis and police intelligence as experiencing elevated crime rates or anti-social behaviour. This joint effort represents a vital step in our mission to create safer and more secure communities.
Barnstaple CST: Continued Dedication to Community Safety:
We're overjoyed to share that our tireless efforts have paid off with the successful retender of the Barnstaple CST contract. This victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our team over the years. It's a testament to the positive impact we've made in Barnstaple and a reflection of the trust the community and council place in our ability to deliver exceptional security services. We're eager to continue our partnership in keeping Barnstaple safe.
Gardant Medicare: Providing Essential Support Sportiva EventsPartnership:
Gardant Medicare is proud to have been selected as the sole provider of event medical services for Sportiva Events. This partnership reflects our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of participants at sporting events across the region.
Health & Safety: Empowering Our Team
Investing in the well-being of our staff remains a top priority. This summer, we've reinforced our commitment to safety through:
Empowering Toolbox Talks: Toolbox Talks are more than just discussions – they're essential tools for building a culture of safety awareness. By sharing real-world scenarios, addressing specific hazards, and fostering open communication, we equip our team to identify and mitigate risks on the job.
Interactive Online Training: Recognizing that learning is ongoing, we're expanding our training initiatives with engaging online modules. These interactive sessions will provide our team with valuable skills and knowledge updates, further reinforcing our commitment to their professional development.
JOSCAR & Safe Contractor Accreditation: Our dedication to maintaining the highest industry standards is evidenced by our successful JOSCAR audit and our ongoing Safe Contractor accreditation. These external validations underline our unwavering commitment to safety, compliance, and quality.
Gardant Training Academy: Enhancing Skills and Knowledge
Our training division, Gardant Training Academy, has been busy delivering a wide range of courses across the county:
CCTV Courses: Equipping security professionals with the skills to effectively operate and monitor surveillance systems.
Door Supervision Courses: Full and top-up courses to ensure door supervisors are qualified and up-to-date with best practices.
FREC 3 Courses: Delivering comprehensive training in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) Level 3. This equips our team with advanced skills in oxygen administration, trauma management, and handling major medical incidents, ensuring a higher level of care in emergency situations.
Bespoke Conflict Management: Delivering tailored conflict management training to Exeter Cathedral staff, promoting de-escalation skills and conflict resolution techniques.
Environmental Responsibility: A Collective Effort
At Gardant Security, environmental stewardship isn't just a buzzword; it's a core value. This summer, we're encouraging all staff to embrace everyday actions that make a difference:
Litter Reduction Challenge: We're launching a company-wide initiative to reduce litter and promote responsible waste disposal. Small actions like using reusable containers, recycling diligently, and picking up litter wherever we see it can collectively have a significant positive impact.
Energy Conservation Efforts: As the days get longer and hotter, let's be mindful of our energy consumption. Simple actions like turning off lights when not in use and closing windows to maintain cool temperatures go a long way in conserving resources.
Employee Spotlight: Nathan & Charles, Heroes Among Us
We want to commend the extraordinary actions of Nathan and Charles, two of our Barnstaple CST members. Working alongside a member of the public and a local PCSO team member, they skillfully coordinated a life-saving first aid response in a critical situation involving a cardiac arrest. Despite their best efforts, the gentleman sadly did not survive. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones. Nathan and Charles's bravery, teamwork, and expertise serve as a shining example of the dedication and compassion our entire Gardant Security team embodies.
Farewell and Welcome: A Changing of the Guard
Last week, we bid farewell to our esteemed Operations Manager, George Phillips. George has been instrumental in managing and developing our Babcock Plymouth contract, as well as overseeing all events, including One Big Summer, OceanFest, and the Torbay Airshow, over the past two years. His expertise and dedication have been invaluable, and he will be sorely missed. We are grateful that he'll continue to contribute at events in a different capacity. Thank you, George, and best of luck for the future!
We're also excited to welcome Baz Kent as our new Operations Manager. Baz has been a dedicated Senior Supervisor with us for the past 12 months and, with nearly 20 years of experience, was the natural choice to step into George's shoes.
Baz's extensive background as a Head Door Supervisor, coupled with his work in the care industry and as a Behaviour Manager, makes him an exceptional addition to our Senior Management team. We wish Baz all the best in his new role and look forward to his leadership.
